Biography
After graduating from the University of Medicine and Surgery, L'Aquila, Italy in 1985, Dr. Leva completed a residency in Pediatrics at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Dr. Leva, was one of the two founding partners of the practice. He also joined the faculty of Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, building and orchestrating the formation of the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine both at St. Peter's Children's Hospital and The Bristol-Myers Squibb Children's Hospital, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.
Currently, he is a Professor of Pediatrics at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and serves as the Pediatric Emergency Medicine division director. Dr. Leva serves the children of the State of New Jersey in multiple capacities. For over 15 years, he served as the Vice-Chair of the Child Fatality, Near Fatality Review Board of the State of New Jersey. He has served as the chairman of the Emergency Services for children committee of the State of New Jersey and is currently Vice-Chair of the committee. He is very involved in the New Jersey Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
On a personal level, his number one joy is spending time with his family, most importantly his children and grandchildren. He enjoys a long run and numerous hours boating and fishing.
